WBA Child Protection Policy
Werribee Basketball Association is committed to devising and implementing policies so that everyone in sport accepts their responsibilities to safeguard children from harm and abuse. This means to follow procedures to protect children and report any concerns about their welfare to appropriate authorities.
The aim of the policy is to promote good practice, provide children and young people with appropriate safety/protection whilst in the care of Werribee Basketball Association and to allow staff and volunteers to make informed and confident responses to specific child protection issues.
WBA Child Protection Procedure
The procedure explains how to act when allegations/suspicions are raised.
WBA Photographic Policy
The WBA is concerned to ensure that it and its affiliated clubs take reasonable steps to ascertain that photographic depiction of basketball activities is being used for legitimate and harmless purposes.
WBA Rerpresenative Program – Domestic Policy
If a player wishes to play representative basketball with the WBA, then it is expected that the player will also participate in the WBA domestic competition. If a player is unable to participate in the WBA domestic competition then the player (or, if under 18, their parent/guardian) must submit an exemption request in writing using the below exemption request form.
WBA Heat Policy
The WBA heat policy is aligned with Basketball Victoria’s. The policy is considered when the on court temperature (inside) is 30 degrees celsius, must be implemented at 35 degrees and games are abandoned at 40 degrees.
Basketball Victoria Codes of Conduct
These Codes of Conduct have been developed by Basketball Victoria to give participants some guide to the expectations it has on those participants. It is intended to assist everyone to obtain the maximum benefit and enjoyment from their involvement in basketball.
